BABY STUFF

So, as most of you know by now, we are expecting a little baby girl in June! Her name will be Orli Ninette Ribakoff! :) We dabbled with several names, but after we found out it was going to be a girl for sure, Orli really stuck and Ninette came a little bit later, being perfect because I'm a Nine and she will be a Nine-ette! :D

Anyways, now for the story, the when we found out, how we told people and the things I have been going through.

Well I obviously noticed when mother nature did not come to visit so I took a awesome digital pregnancy test (ok, 4 of them!) and all said most defintely yes! When Nate came home, I told him we were going to have a baby and at first he was like "ohh.....ok....uuuhhh...." haha he was just concerned about the money and raising the baby, but we both came to realize that financial problems are easier to fix than relationship issues so we figured we would be just fine. :)

Well, I had to make sure I had insurance and that took awhile to kick in, so we didn't get to a doctor till almost 5 months (haha dr was worried cause we missed some testing....oh well) and meanwhile, I went through the most interesting changes I have ever been through. It all started with the textbook morning sickness, always nauseous throughout the morning and settling down later in the day. So started the odd eating habits. I need to eat every 3 or so hours but because my insides are all smooshed, I can't eat alot at once, so my method is eat less more often.....but the things I want to eat are sometimes not the best for me! I was working alot of overnights at my job during this time and it didn't take long for my body to give up and one night, RIGHT AFTER I told my boss that I wasn't feeling good and didn't think I could work anymore overnights, I passed out...and I mean just pass out! The morning crew came in and found me crouched over the desk in the office and called the ambulance. Everything was fine and needless to say I stopped working overnights after that!
My cravings are a totally different story. Like any other pregnant woman, I have my cravings, and they have been changing as the days and weeks go by. Odd? I got no clue, but for example, during the first trimester all I wanted was milk!! It was all about MILK!! Chocolate milk, strawberry milk, you name it, I craved it. I also was and still am into fruits! I LOVE me some fresh fruits....then again that isn't so different from before, but I would rather have an apple than a chocolate bar, and THAT IS different than before haha! I only ask for chocolate very rarely and usually after nate does something stupid and I make him go get me one for making me upset....heehee
My sense of smell is still super sensitive and and although I do not get sick or puky whenever I smell certain things, I still get bothered by them. Some things that smelled good to me give me a headache and are too strong now. I still stick with the naturals though, lavender, sandlewood, patchuli, and other really relaxing scents that I grew up smelling on my mama, and now I know why she liked them so much! So here's to you mama! :)

We told family and friends through facebook and over phone and such, nothing special there.

We are really excited and cannot wait to meet this little girl! From the sonograms she looks like she may just have her daddy's nose haha much to his dismay, but she is as active as she can be!!! She loves to move around and now that I am about 6 months along, she probably can't move around as much as she used to, but she still loves to kick and punch and headbutt my guts...at all hours!!! I mean can I PLEASE get a break at night??? Or is this the mothers curse that was placed on me so long ago? But seriously, we go into the Dr to get a sonogram and she LOVES to have her picture taken! (just like her mama!) and has a tendency of squirming around a bit too much and it takes the Dr a few tries to find her head....she LOVES to play games I know she is going to be stinker.

Well, I will try to remember to keep ya'll posted as to what is going on and how Orli and mama and daddy are doing!!!
